Who exactly are you?
I'm a professional musician based in New England.
What does your blog's name mean?
I find that the vast majority of my day is spent looking at black and white piano keys or black and white sheet music or black stages with white lights, which is probably why I like the boldest and most colorful in fashion and art. So because I'm surrounded by black and white all day, I like to spend as much time as possible exploring the colorful side of things.
What's the point of your blog?
This blog is an outlet to react and respond to fashion. When you see so many images throughout the day it's easy for things to become a blur unless they become a trend. This blog gives me a chance to sit and reflect and write about looks in the hope that I can appreciate them more fully and share that with others. Don't be surprised if music and art slip in, too!
What are your sources for fashion news?
I follow a number of fashion and style blogs online. Some favorites include major ones like The Sartorialist, The Man Repeller, Marian Kihogo, The Glamourai, and Diane, Dear Shaded. There are countless others I follow, see the front page for an ever-changing list. I also subscribe to WWD and check in from time to time with basics such as Vogue.
Favorite fashion quote?
Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary.
-Cecil Beaton
